First weekend of the new year, New goals, new friends, new classes!

I hope everyone had a wonderful start to the New Year. In this time of growth and rebirth, I hope you are taking time to reflect on lessons learned while simultaneously releasing whatever is no longer serving you. What does that mean? It means let it go, dude. You know what I'm talking about. Let. It. Go.

Donation from Sunday's class. I came home and ordered like 10 boxes of these. So cute!

In both classes this weekend I touched on the idea of recognizing the negative thoughts we have but not letting them win. When we practice yoga you will hear every teacher say "inhale.... exhale" as a part of their cues, but as students how often do we listen to those cues? I mention the breath because when we connect to the breath, we are present in the moment. When we are present in the moment, it is so much easier to let go of the past... stop expecting the future... and just sit in our moment. Sit where we are. I know, sounds crazy, but try it on for size.

Once we center in our moment it is our thoughts that dictate how we feel in that moment. As we encounter the hardships in life that will inevitably happen, how do we approach them? When we miss our flight do we think "I'm never going to catch another plane" and create the future as a negative... or do we think "I will catch the next flight out, it will happen"? With that second thought we have taken control over our emotion in the current moment to create an outcome that will be positive rather than giving in to the negative emotions surrounding challenges.

In your upcoming week, challenge yourself to envision your ultimate end goal situation. For some it will be no traffic on the commute, for others it will be manifesting the promotion, or the family life they so desire. Take responsibility for the thoughts you send out into the universe and hold on tight to your positive vision. You might be surprised what the power of thought can create.

Every week people ask me how to donate for attending class, so I like to make that available. Please see below :)

I went through two playlists this weekend. I created a unique list for Saturday. On sunday I was drawn back to my 12.17 playlist again. There's something magical happening on that playlist so I shared it again below :)

I can't wait to see you all again in two weeks. Carry some peace in your heart and take it out into the world. From what I can see, we all need a little peace in our life. Let's share that!

When you listen to yourself, everything comes naturally. It comes from inside, like a kind of will to do something. Try to be sensitive. That is yoga.
