Beat the Holiday Stress
As cliche as it is, can you feel the holiday stress coming? A season that’s suppose to be about ‘peace and joy’ is more often a time linked to heightened stress and anxiety. There’s no way to avoid it - but with meditation and yoga you can help alleviate all the tension and stress that can accompany the holidays.
Try incorporating meditation into your daily routine. Letting go of the expectations you’ve put upon yourself, will open you up to more opportunities for peace and joy. Here is a simple 5 min meditation that can be easily incorporated into your daily routine.
Set your timer for 5 minutes
Close your eyes
Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale completely
Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for 2-3 seconds, exhale completely
Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale completely
Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for 2-3 seconds, exhale completely
Keep alternating your breaths. This helps will help you keep focus on your breathing, and can help keep your mind from wandering
If you do find your mind wandering, simply acknowledge the thoughts and let them go. Bring your mind back to your breath
